Anjan Chakravartty
Dr Anjan Chakravartty holds the Appignani Foundation Chair for the Study of Atheism, Humanism, and Secular Ethics at the University of Miami. A philosopher of science trained at Cambridge, where he completed his MPhil and PhD in History and Philosophy of Science, his career has taken him from King's College Cambridge to the University of Toronto, Notre Dame, and Miami. Before academia, he spent three years working on international development in Calcutta and with a United Nations World Congress on Environment and Development. His latest edited volume, Science and Humanism: Knowledge, Values, and the Common Good, brings together leading philosophers to examine the relationship between scientific inquiry and humanist values.
